Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Shophive. By installing or using our app, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

Acceptance of Terms

By installing, accessing, or using Shophive (“the App”, “we”, “us”, “our”), you (“Merchant”, “you”, “your”) agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not install or use the App.

These terms apply in addition to the Shopify API Terms of Service and Shopify Terms of Service.

Description of Service

Shophive is a Shopify application that provides automated analytics dashboards for e-commerce merchants. The App connects to your Shopify store via OAuth to read order, product, and inventory data, then generates:

  • Real-time sales and revenue dashboards
  • Daily summary reports delivered via email and/or Slack
  • Top product performance breakdowns
  • Inventory level monitoring and low-stock alerts
  • Historical trend analysis and week-over-week comparisons

Shophive processes only aggregated metrics. We do not store individual customer PII from your Shopify store.

Account Registration

When you install Shophive from the Shopify App Store, an account is automatically created using your store’s information. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your Shopify store credentials
  • All activity that occurs through your connected store
  • Ensuring your contact email address remains current and valid
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access or security breach

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in abusive behaviour.

Shopify Store Data

By connecting your store, you grant Shophive permission to access the following Shopify API scopes:

read_ordersCalculate revenue, order counts, average order value, and sales trends
read_productsIdentify top products, build performance breakdowns, track catalogue changes
read_inventoryMonitor stock levels and generate low-inventory alerts

You may revoke access at any time by uninstalling Shophive from your Shopify admin. Upon uninstallation, all associated data is deleted within 48 hours per our Privacy Policy.

Billing & Plans

Shophive offers multiple pricing tiers billed through the Shopify Billing API:

Free

$0/month

Basic dashboard, daily email summary, top products, inventory alerts, 7-day data history.

Starter

$29/month

Everything in Free plus Slack summaries, 90-day data history, CSV/PDF export, week-over-week comparisons.

Growth

$79/month

Everything in Starter plus multiple store connections, unlimited history, custom branding, priority support, API access.

Paid plans include a 14-day free trial. You will not be charged until the trial period ends. Charges are processed through Shopify’s billing system and will appear on your Shopify invoice. You can cancel or downgrade at any time from your Shopify admin.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days’ advance notice. Existing subscribers will be grandfathered at their current rate for at least 90 days after any price change announcement.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of Shopify's terms
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App
  • Use automated systems to scrape, overload, or abuse the App's infrastructure
  • Share your account credentials or allow unauthorized third-party access
  • Misrepresent the App's data or analytics in a fraudulent or misleading way
  • Use the App to collect or store end-customer PII beyond what is necessary

Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in the App — including its design, code, algorithms, trademarks, and documentation — are owned by Shophive. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App in connection with your Shopify store.

Your store data remains yours. We claim no ownership over any data accessed from your Shopify store. We only use such data to provide and improve the services described in Section 2.

Data Privacy

Your privacy is fundamental to how we operate. Our handling of personal and store data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Key points:

  • Shopify access tokens are encrypted with AES-256-GCM at rest
  • We store only aggregated metrics — never individual customer PII
  • All data is purged within 48 hours of app uninstallation
  • We comply with GDPR, including mandatory Shopify data webhooks
  • We never sell, rent, or trade your data to third parties

Service Availability

We strive to keep Shophive available 24/7, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The App may be temporarily unavailable due to:

  • Planned maintenance (we aim to provide advance notice)
  • Shopify platform outages or API changes
  • Force majeure events beyond our reasonable control
  • Security incidents requiring immediate remediation

We are not liable for any losses arising from service interruptions, including but not limited to missed daily summaries or temporary data access delays.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Shophive and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, business opportunities, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the App.

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising under these terms shall not exceed the total fees you have paid to us in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the claim.

The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Termination

By you: You may terminate your use of Shophive at any time by uninstalling the App from your Shopify admin. Upon uninstallation, your data will be deleted within 48 hours.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, engage in abusive behaviour, or if required by law. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice except where immediate action is required.

Upon termination, Sections 7 (Intellectual Property), 10 (Limitation of Liability), and 12 (Governing Law) shall survive.

Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

Modifications to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email, in-app notification, or by posting a prominent notice within the App at least 14 days before the changes take effect.

Continued use of the App after the effective date of updated terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you may uninstall the App before the effective date.
